A fundamental and global challenge is the development of effective approaches to enhance cognition in both the healthy and impaired. For the healthy, this is a core mission of our educational system and for the cognitively impaired this is the primary goal of our mental health medical system. Unfortunately, neither of these systems have yet to effectively meet this challenge. Dr. Gazzaley will share his vision of how emerging virtual reality technology can be used to achieve meaningful and sustainable cognitive enhancement, with the ultimate aim of improving our quality of life.

Adam Gazzaley, M.D., Ph.D. is Professor in Neurology, Physiology and Psychiatry at the UC San Francisco, and the Founder & Executive Director of Neuroscape, a translational neuroscience center engaged in technology development and scientific research of novel brain assessments and optimization tools. Dr. Gazzaley is co-founder and Chief Science Advisor of Akili Interactive Labs and JAZZ Venture Partners. He is a scientific advisor for over a dozen technology companies including Apple, GE, Magic Leap and The VOID.
